Who We Are
Brenda "Puahi" Malick, President
Puahi's Polynesian Dance Company has been teaching both Hula and Tahitian dance and culture in the Temecula Valley since 1995. It has been a privilege and honor to be able to represent two beautiful dance cultures of Hawai'i and Tahiti.
Puahi has been dancing since she was ten years old and continues to educate herself in dance and culture in the Tahitian and Hawaiian customs. Puahi has established a relationship with her Kumu (Teacher), Kumu Hula Rich Pedrina of Hālau Hula ‘O Nāpunaheleonāpua (www.richpedrina.com), to understand and initiate the style and traditions of traditional Hula; Kahiko. Puahi has also established a relationship with the islands of Huahine, Bora Bora, Tahiti, Raiatea, and Taha'a to learn about their customs and dance style. These relationships have been instituted as a way for the dancers of Puahi's to experience the traditions and customs of the people from these islands.
It is our goal to continue to grow and thrive in our knowledge of both Hula and Tahitian dance. It is our hope to share the love we have for these cultures with those who are willing and open to learn.
